Dr. John Mwando is a foot and ankle surgeon with extensive training in wound care and diabetic limb salvage. He attended the University of Nairobi in Kenya, where he earned his medical degree with a concentration in infectious disease. After moving to the United States, he attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating with honors. Dr. Mwando then completed a three-year residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
He currently serves as an attending physician at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, Fifth Avenue Surgery Center, and Westchester Medical Center. Dr. Mwando is deeply committed to his patients’ well-being and is extensively trained in foot and ankle surgery, with a special emphasis on wound care and diabetic limb salvage.
He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
When not practicing, Dr. Mwando enjoys watching and playing soccer.
